This beer started out as a pilot batch for our 2nd Fest of Ale in 2014. It was voted as a favorite among the attendees at the festival. We originally released a full sized version of it back in January of 2015. This beer is highly labor intensive as we have to go out and personally toast the coconut ourselves at a local commissary kitchen. Toasting the coconut is only half of the fun of making this beer. While the toasting smells awesome and is a little break from the daily grind in the brewhouse, the filtering of the coconut shavings out of this beer takes 4x as long when we transfer it to kegs. It’s a slow and laborious process through our specially designed filtration system. It can’t be rushed, or else we’ll clog up the whole filter and have to clean/sanitize everything again.
This beer is made with love in Loveland, and we hope you enjoy this hand-made fine ale.
