Last July 3rd on a beautiful night in Downtown Loveland, fans of Loveland Aleworks gathered for the 3rd installment of the Fest-of-Ale. Each employee had brewed a small batch (10gal) of a beer they hoped would represent their unique style. Patrons voted on their favorite ale from the night, and after everything was tallied up, Cassidy's Caramel Porter had come out on top. It had a roasted porter base, with a hint of caramel sweetness. All 10 gal. of the beer were finished that evening. The top two wining beers get brewed each year on our 10BBL system.
This past Monday, after a BUSY weekend of Fire and Ice Festival, we got to work at 4am to brew Cassidy's Caramel Porter. As can happen in any brew day, there were a few challenges to be overcome, but by early afternoon the beer had been transferred into the fermentor and yeast was pitched. Now we just wait for the delicious results.
