Why Is It Taking So Long To Get Back To The Moon? Grab a friend and enjoy a pint and find out why.

50 years ago, on July 20th, 1969 Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, marking the first time in history that humans had strode on a body other than the Earth. Over the next three and a half years, 5 more Apollo missions would land on the Moon, bringing the total number of people to walk on the Moon to 12. However, since 1972, no human has set foot on the Moon or anywhere else but Earth. Why has it taken so long to send people back to the Moon? What is NASA currently doing to get people back to the Moon and beyond? What challenges must be overcome? Dr. Charles Kuehn and Dr. Matt will answer these questions and more. Join us for some awesome science, cool demos related including what happens to electronics in the vacuum of space and what is needed to protect astronauts from dangerous radiation in space, great beer, and fun trivia! There will also be the chance to view the Moon through a telescope and take a picture of it on your phone.
